About Us

WORKSHOP

We are located on a rural converted farm site on the Romney Marsh in Kent. Sycamore Farm consists of 30 industrial units of varying sizes, occupied by a wide range of different businesses, including a car body shop, shot blaster/fabricator, haulage company, MOT test centre, storage, motorsport team workshop, and a training facility.

Our unit is a newly converted shed and housed within a fenced compound with a substantial concrete yard at its core. The site is secured by an automated gate system which is open during trading hours of 6am to 8pm. Out of hours’ access is ONLY achievable by security key fob. The site is over-watched by 24-hour infra-red CCTV, and supported by floodlights throughout.

We are also fully insured, covering both our work and your vehicle while on our site, so you can trust that your vehicle will be safe while in our care.

OUR STAFF

"We are a small operation, currently employing three members of staff. Two full-time staff in the workshop and one part-time that manages our accounts & administration"

Gavin Barlow - Director/Mechanic

I have spent the last 8 years working as a mechanic at RR Motor Services where I have restored many vehicles to various standards. My speciality is the Stuart M3A1 light tank. I have worked on 22 while at RR and have fully restored three; the most recent of which can be seen on display at The Tank Museum, Bovington.

I'm also a serving Army R.E.M.E reservist of 10 years where I currently hold the rank of Sergeant.

Gareth Davies - Mechanic

Gareth is our general workshop mechanic. His background is in railway engineering where he managed a gang repairing track. He came to Armoured Engineering after health issues meant he could no longer work on track. He has also worked at RR Motor Services in the past. He's currently under going an in-house training programme modelled on the R.E.M.E vehicle mechanic course.
